Part X1272 is the complete backplate assembly for Sanitaire SC412 and SC420 backpack vacuums - the back plate, the rest and the harness supplied as one unit. It is also listed under the numbers B352-1314 and B3521314, and it fits the Eureka and Sanitaire SC412B and the Powr-Flite PF712VC.
On a backpack machine this assembly is the entire interface between the operator and the weight. When webbing frays, a buckle gives up or the plate cracks at a strap anchor, the load stops sitting where it should and moves onto the shoulders - something an operator feels inside the first half hour of a shift.
Because it arrives assembled, there is no salvaging of old straps involved. The worn unit comes off the machine and the new one goes on in its place.
