SEBO HEPA Pre-Motor Microfilter for AUTOMATIC X, ESSENTIAL G and 300/350

A pre-motor filter decides how much of what the bag lets through ever reaches the motor, and 5812ER puts HEPA media in that position on SEBO's AUTOMATIC X, ESSENTIAL G and 300/350 uprights. Holding 99.97% of particles at 0.3 microns before the airstream reaches the motor means mite fragments, pollen and dander are stopped at the front of the machine rather than at the tail end, which is why allergy households tend to specify this filter over the standard pad.

Fitment covers both upright families in full along with the two mechanical models: the AUTOMATIC X1, X2, X4, X4 Boost, X5, X7 Premium, X7 Pet and X8, the ESSENTIAL G1, G2, G4 and G5, and the 300 Mechanical and 350 Mechanical. It is a straight substitution for standard microfilter 5036AM in the same housing, so nothing about the machine has to change to run HEPA media — the filter drops into the slot behind the bag chamber and the door closes on it exactly as before.

The signs it is due are gradual: suction that has drifted down over months with a fresh bag installed, a motor that runs warmer or louder than it used to, or media that has gone gray right through. Plan on a change every 6 to 12 months in normal domestic use, sooner in a home with pets. The media is sealed, so it cannot be rinsed, tapped out or vacuumed clean; once it is loaded it is finished. If odor rather than allergens is the problem, the same slot takes anti-odor microfilter 5425AM.
