Product details

Every command sent to ProTeam's FreeFlex corded-cordless upright passes through its main board, cataloged as part 840490, on the way to the motor. When this board develops a fault, the vacuum can act broken in ways that have nothing obviously in common, which makes it a hard part to diagnose without ruling things out in order first.

Look for a mismatch between how the machine behaves on its two power modes. Maybe it drives fine off the battery pack but goes nowhere on the cord, or the reverse. Maybe it fires up, runs for a few seconds, then quits under its own power. Maybe it simply refuses to respond even when plugged into a wall outlet that runs other appliances without issue. Any one of these narrows the search toward the board rather than the battery, cord, or switch on their own, so check those three individually before condemning anything else.

With the battery, cord, and switch all testing fine by themselves, the board is what is left. Kill power to the unit and take the battery pack out before opening the case, and lift the new board out by its edges so static from your hands stays away from the parts mounted on it.

Take a picture of how the wires run before disconnecting the old board, so that every connector goes back to the position it came from when the new board goes in. Wait to reinsert the battery pack and plug the unit back in until every connector is checked and seated.
