Part 100358 is the single adjustment buckle on the shoulder strap of ProTeam's backpack harness, used across a long list of models: AviationVac, Everest, Sierra, ProVac CN, RunningVac, QuietPro BP HEPA, LineVacer, Super HalfVac HEPA, Super QuarterVac HEPA, Super QuarterVac, QuarterVac, MegaVac, CoachVac, Super CoachVac HEPA, and Super CoachVac. The strap threads through it, and every pound of the machine passes through this one small piece of plastic on its way to the operator's shoulder.
A cracked buckle does not fail all at once. It holds the setting through the first few minutes of a shift, then starts creeping loose a little at a time as the plastic flexes under load, until the operator notices the vacuum has slid halfway down their back with the weight sitting wrong on one side. Retightening buys a few more minutes before it slips again. A visible crack at the strap slot is usually the first sign, worth a look whenever a strap stops holding the setting it used to.
Swapping a single buckle takes a couple of minutes and costs a fraction of a full harness, which is why field crews carrying these backpacks daily keep a spare or two on hand instead of risking a strap failure mid-route.
