Grit left in a stripe behind the machine on the back stroke usually means the rear of the nozzle is no longer sitting down properly. Part 50311HGER is the light gray rear bottom plate cut for the SEBO 350 Mechanical, which takes a panel of its own rather than sharing one across the range.
This panel finishes the underside at the back of the power head and keeps the trailing lip against the floor, so air is drawn through the nozzle rather than under it. Wear here is slow, since the plate simply thins against carpet and hard flooring until the edge has rounded off, and that makes it easy to overlook until pickup has already suffered. Cracks around the fixing points do the same thing faster. Worth a look every time the machine is tipped over for brush roll work.
