The rear sole plate holds the back edge of the nozzle down against the carpet, and 52110GS renews it in gray black along with a fresh sealing strip and the screws to mount it. SEBO's combined AUTOMATIC X7/X8 parts diagram lists the X7 plate at position 144, supplied complete with items 145 and 160 — item 160 being the C 2.9 x 13 screw SEBO also sells on its own as 01029ER.
Sole plates wear from underneath, and the strip goes hard long before the plate itself is finished. Once either has gone, air is drawn in behind the brush roll instead of through it, and the trailing edge of the nozzle starts leaving a thin line of debris on every pass. That is the symptom people notice first: a machine that picks up well going forward and lays a stripe back down behind itself. Renewing plate and strip together brings the seal back across the full width of the nozzle rather than patching half of it.
If only the strip has hardened, SEBO catalogues it separately as 5400-1, the 12 in sealing strip listed for the AUTOMATIC X7 Premium and X7 Pet, and a strip is also included in service box 51828AM alongside bags and filters. While the plate is off, it is worth looking at the pile adjustment wheel 5174GS and its rubbing plate 5155GS, since a nozzle that has been running with a failed seal has usually been run at the wrong height for a while as well.
