Part B600-1515 is the rear axle housing for the Riccar R27CV, the Clean Air cordless upright. The housing is the moulded pocket in the chassis that captures the rear axle and locates the wheels relative to the nozzle.
It is a structural part, and it is what takes the strain every time the machine is lifted by the body or tipped back onto its rear wheels. Once the housing cracks or its axle seat elongates, the wheels gain play, the machine sits unevenly and the nozzle no longer meets the carpet flat. Fitting a fresh housing is the fix, and it is worth inspecting the axle and wheels while the assembly is apart, since a failed housing has usually been running with a worn axle for some time.
