B361-4200 seals the bag inlet on Simplicity SUN.3 and Riccar JILL.3 uprights. It is the ring the bag collar presses against, and that contact is what decides whether incoming air passes through the bag or slips around it into the housing.

Once this gasket flattens or hardens, dust starts collecting loose in the bag chamber instead of staying inside the bag, and the filters behind it load up faster than they should. It is inexpensive to replace and worth checking any time the bag compartment already has to be opened for something else.
