B220-0314 is a black cover for the basetray on the underside of the Simplicity S10, Riccar R10 and M500 ultralight uprights. Fitted in place, it blocks off the tray so incoming air gets pulled in through the nozzle where it belongs, instead of leaking in around the edges of the sole plate.

On an ultralight upright, this cover takes the brunt of everyday floor-level wear: scraping over carpet transitions, catching on door thresholds, and generally taking hits low to the ground. A cracked or worn cover here is routine wear and tear, not a sign of anything more serious.
