Product details

Small-size dust compartment packing, part B224-0500, listed for 4000 and 6000 series machines and PV models. Packing is the compressible strip that fills the joint between the compartment and the parts closing against it, and it does the quiet work of keeping dust on the bag side of that seam.

Packing hardens and takes a permanent set with age, so a strip that no longer springs back has stopped sealing whether or not it looks intact. It is worth replacing on any machine that is showing dust film around the bag door. The large-size packing for 4000 and 6000 series uprights is a separate number, B224-2300, so check which size your parts diagram calls for.
