B361-4000 is the foot-operated power pedal for the Riccar Sunburst and Simplicity Jill canisters in the SUN.3 and JILL.3 generation. The pedal is the plastic paddle on the top of the canister that you tap with a shoe to run the machine, and it presses the switch assembly mounted underneath it.
Pedals crack at the pivot or lose the tab that pushes the switch, at which point the vacuum either will not start or needs a deliberate hard stomp. Because the pedal and the switch beneath it are separate parts, it is worth working out which of the two has failed. A pedal that moves freely but does nothing usually means the switch, while a pedal that is loose, tilted or does not spring back is the pedal itself.
