The bottom plate on a Royal RY9700 does two jobs at once: it is the surface the machine glides on, and it frames the opening the brush roll sweeps debris through. Part 3624503200 is the complete replacement assembly.

Damage shows up in both roles. A cracked or badly dented plate breaks the nozzle geometry, so the seal against the carpet is lost and pickup drops across the full width even with a healthy motor and a new belt. A plate that has been gouged, or has a sharp lifted edge, will also mark the hard floors you are trying to clean.

If the damage came from an impact, look at the brush roll and its end caps while the nozzle is open, because whatever cracked the plate usually reached them too. Confirm the RY9700 number on the data plate before ordering.
