The handle fork is the hinge point of a Royal upright — the metal junction where the handle meets the base and pivots every time you recline the machine. Years of leverage eventually crack the fork or wallow out its pivot holes, leaving the handle sloppy, crooked, or detached entirely. Fitting a new fork restores a firm connection so the vacuum steers precisely and the recline lock holds its positions again.
