Take the pack when a machine is being opened up properly rather than nursed. Screws that have been in and out of the same moulded boss several times lose their bite well before the housing shows any damage, and a run of fasteners replaced together puts even clamping back across a panel. Where a hole has already been over-cut, a new screw will feel soft going in, which is the signal to look at the boss rather than reach for more torque.
