Machine screws behave nothing like the tapping screws used elsewhere in a vacuum. The M5 x 25 supplied as 0110TER is cut to a proper metric thread and made to run into a tapped seat or a captive nut, which is what SEBO uses on the ET-C power head. Ten come in the pack, made to DIN 7985 with a cross-recessed pan head.

The practical difference shows on removal. A machine screw can be taken out and put back many times without the fixing losing its grip, since nothing is being cut fresh on each pass. What does wear is the cross recess in the head, and that is the usual reason one of these gets replaced, along with a thread pulled out of shape by cross-threading on reassembly. A power head that has begun to knock on the floor, or one whose base plate no longer sits square, is worth checking against this size before anything larger is suspected.

Torque is the other thing to watch. A metric screw running into a tapped seat gives very little warning before it strips the thread in the component rather than in itself, and the damage is then to the part rather than to the fastener. Tighten to firm and stop; if a screw keeps turning without loading up, the seat is the problem and no amount of driving will fix it.
