Product details
Getting an ET-C power head back together sometimes comes down to a single fixing, and 0110TL is that one: an M5 x 25 cross-recessed pan head machine screw to DIN 7985, ordered on its own rather than in a strip of ten.
Because it takes a metric thread rather than cutting its own, the fit is decided by the seat it goes into, and a self-tapper of similar size is not a substitute at all. Drive the wrong pattern into a tapped hole and the original thread is ruined in one turn. Check the thread on the screw you removed before ordering: a machine screw has a uniform, evenly spaced thread running to a blunt end, where a tapping screw is coarser and usually tapers. Replacement is called for when the cross recess has opened up under a slipping driver, or when a screw has been bent or cross-threaded during a brush change.
Ordering one at a time suits this fastener because it rarely fails in groups. Machine screws in a tapped seat can be removed and refitted many times over the life of a power head, so the fixings on either side of a damaged one are usually still serviceable, and there is nothing to gain from replacing them alongside it. Where several have been damaged at once, which usually means a driver of the wrong size was used across the whole set, the ten-pack listed as 0110TER is the better call.
