Thirty millimetres on an M5 thread makes this one of the longer machine screws SEBO lists, specified for the SOFTCASE and the 370 ELECTRONIC. The AM5 designation means a true metric machine thread rather than a screw that cuts its own path into plastic, and DIN 7985 sets the head as a cross-recessed pan head, low and domed, bearing across a wide flat face.

Long machine screws usually indicate a clamped stack, with two or more parts drawn down onto a threaded seat. Put the wrong length in that position and the outcome goes one of two ways: too short and the screw runs out of thread before the stack is tight, so the assembly is held only by friction; too long and it bottoms in the seat and jacks the parts back apart while the driver reports a screw that has gone solid.
