Seals are consumable items, whatever the machine. Part 3268ER is the sealing strip that runs along a mating edge on the SEBO DISCO floor polisher, holding that joint closed while the machine works so the air it moves goes where it was intended to go rather than escaping inside the body.
Three things finish a strip like this off, usually in sequence. The material hardens with age and heat, years of clamping flatten it so it no longer springs back against its face, and eventually it splits or lifts out of its channel altogether. The joint then leaks quietly and the polisher stops behaving the way it did when it was new, with no single broken component to point at. That is what makes a sealing strip worth renewing early: it is one of the smallest parts on the machine and one of the most common reasons a machine feels tired without being faulty. Clean the channel out completely before the new strip goes in, and press it home along its whole length rather than just at the ends.
