Colour is how SEBO grades its polishing pads, and blue sits at the gentle end of that scale. Pad 3230ER00 is the one for waxed floors and soft coatings, the finishes most easily burnished dull or scuffed by a harder pad.

The soft fibre works the surface at low friction, lifting the shine without cutting into the coating underneath. That is the whole distinction: a more aggressive pad removes material to correct a floor, while this one polishes what is already there. On a wax finish that difference decides whether you end up with a gloss or with swirl marks.

It is sold singly, which suits the way pads are actually used: a delicate-finish pad can be kept apart from the ones used for preparation work and brought out only for the floors that need it. Retire a pad once it has gone hard or matted, since a loaded pad stops polishing and starts dragging whatever it has picked up across the surface.

Seat it centrally on the drive plate so it runs true. A pad mounted off centre hammers the machine and wears itself unevenly, and on a soft finish an unbalanced pad is exactly how a floor acquires marks it did not have that morning.

Store pads by colour so a coarser grade never reaches a waxed floor by mistake, and rinse them out rather than letting the residue set hard.
