Light-coloured machines take the arctic white shell, which is what separates part 9999D56 from the white and grey 9999D55. Under the moulding the two are one tool: a 12-inch ET-1 power nozzle with a built-in motor spinning a brush roll the full width of the head.
Agitation is the reason to fit one. Suction on its own lifts what is sitting on top of a carpet; a driven roller opens the pile and frees the ground-in soil and hair below it. Use it as a straight swap for a head that has failed, or to convert a suction-only floor tool on any system wired to power a nozzle. Where there is no current running through to the head, an air-driven turbo brush is the alternative — a power nozzle simply will not run.
Signs that a SEBO ET-1 power head has reached the end are easy to read. The brush roll stalls under load or stops altogether; the bristles have worn back flush with the roller so nothing reaches into the pile; the bearings have gone noisy; or the shell has been split against a doorframe and the head no longer sits flat. Replacing it restores the mechanical half of the cleaning that a carpet depends on.
Twelve inches is a width that works on stairs as well as on open floor, which is worth knowing for anyone who has been carrying a full-size head up a flight. Colour is the only thing to settle before ordering: arctic white here, white and grey under 9999D55, with the same brush roll, the same motor and the same 12-inch path behind either shell.
