SEBO Dust Bag Housing for G1, G2 and UPT Uprights - Light Grey and Teal

The moulded bag chamber inside a SEBO G1, G2 or UPT upright does more than hold the filter bag. It steers the airstream into the bag and keeps everything the machine has picked up sealed away until you choose to change it. Part 5214AT is that chamber, finished in the light grey and teal of those machines.

Once the moulding splits or a mounting boss breaks, the bag stops seating square in its collar and air takes the short route around it rather than through it. Two things follow. Suction falls off at the floor, which most people blame on the bag or on a tired motor, and dust ends up loose inside the body of the machine, which is obvious the moment the compartment is opened and gritty to the touch. A badly cracked chamber can also let the bag come adrift entirely part-way through a clean, which empties the collected dirt back into the machine.

A sound housing puts the seal back and lets the bag do the filtering it was designed for. It is worth inspecting the chamber whenever a machine of this age has lost performance for no traceable reason, because hairline cracks around the collar seat and the mounting bosses are easy to miss and account for a surprising amount of lost suction.
