Silver-trimmed bodies use their own upper handle, and 5644AM is that number: grip, tube, cord and switch already assembled into one unit. It appears as item 1 on the AUTOMATIC X7/X8 parts drawing, with the gray black cable hook 5703GS a little further down the same sheet at item 31.

These sections give out from the inside. Lifting, lowering and folding the machine flexes the conductors where they pass into the grip until a strand gives way, so the machine stutters or cuts out whenever the handle is moved. Since the cable, the switch and the tube all live inside this one section, replacing it complete deals with every one of them in a single job and leaves no joint buried where it cannot be checked later.
