Product details
Part 765502W is Canplas's short 90-degree tee, a three-port fitting that joins a branch line into a run at a right angle while taking up less length along the pipe than a standard tee body would. One of its sockets is molded short, which is exactly what lets it drop into stretches where a full-size tee will not fit between the fittings already cemented in place.
Tees do different work than wyes in a central vacuum layout. A wye merges a branch in at a shallow angle and is the better choice out on the main trunk, where keeping debris moving matters most. A tee earns its spot where geometry leaves no room for a sweeping merge, most often close behind an inlet valve, where a vertical riser meets a horizontal run inside a stud bay, or where lines serving different floors come together in tight framing. In those spots the compact body is the point, and the short socket buys the clearance.
Install it the way every other solvent-weld fitting in the system goes in: dry-fit first to confirm all three legs land where they should, then prime and cement each joint fully around its circumference. A tee carries airflow from more than one direction, so a partial weld on any of its three sockets leaks air into the line and quietly costs suction at every inlet downstream of the joint.
This is a generic fitting molded to the ASTM F2158 central vacuum standard in white PVC, sized to standard 2-inch outside-diameter pipe, so it pairs with any brand's piping and inlet hardware rather than one specific power unit.
