The sound-off muffler, part 030185, reduces the noise a central vacuum power unit sends back through the pipe to the inlets around the house. It installs into the pipework near the power unit.

Central vacuum power units are among the loudest equipment in a typical home, which is why they are usually mounted in a garage, basement or utility closet away from living space in the first place. A muffler like this brings the noise down further without needing to relocate the unit or reroute the pipe run.

It fits a range of Beam, Electrolux and Honeywell power units, including the Beam 700TBN01A, SC325D, SC395, 600SAN01A, 650SBN01A, 650SCN50A and 650SCN51A, the Electrolux PU3450, PU3650 and PU3900 QuietClean, and the Honeywell H402, H502, H702, H802A and H902.

Adding a muffler is a common step in a garage or utility closet positioned next to a bedroom or home office, and it is equally worth fitting on any installation whose exhaust was never vented outside.
