Spacers set clearance, and when clearance goes the first symptom is noise long before anything actually breaks. Part 0149ER puts ten of the 18/25/1.0 spacer washers used on the SEBO Duo into a single order — the same component sold individually as 0149.
Each ring slips over its spindle and fixes how far the neighbouring component can travel along it. Get that dimension right and the part turns without touching what sits beside it. Get it wrong, or leave the spacer out entirely, and the assembly wanders under load, wearing unevenly on one face and picking up a tick or a rub that gets worse with every hour of running. Because the figures in the name are the specification, a spacer is one of the few parts where a visually similar washer from the drawer is definitely the wrong answer. A plain flat washer such as 0143 exists to spread a screw head's load; a spacer exists to hold a gap, and the two are not interchangeable even where the bores happen to look alike.
These are cheap, easy to mislay during a teardown and easy to drop into the wrong tray, so a bag of ten means the correct thickness is always to hand rather than approximated with whatever is closest. Shops running several Duo machines get through them steadily. The prompts to order are consistent: a component that can be pushed sideways along its spindle by hand, a tick that rises with speed, or wear concentrated on one face of a rotating part where it should be even.
