Product details

This is a manual scrub brush on a telescopic pole, built to work carpet spots, tile and grout lines rather than plug into a vacuum hose, sold as part CD1002. The removable pole extends so you can reach across a room or down into a shower stall without getting on your knees with a hand brush.

The head is divided into sections, each cut for a different surface. The gray section is meant for flat surfaces, the light and dark blue sections handle carpet, and the red section is the one for grout lines. Matching the section to the job is most of the technique here, since dragging a carpet section along grout wastes effort in both directions.

The wear point on a tool like this is the bristle field itself. Once bristles have flattened or splayed from repeated scrubbing, they skate across grout lines instead of digging into them, and the brush stops lifting ground in dirt even when you press harder. Short back and forth strokes get more out of a worn section than pressing down does, and rinsing the head under water afterward keeps grit from packing in between uses.

Because this is spot work, it will not replace a vacuum pass across a room. It is for the carpet marks, tile and grout lines that a floor nozzle cannot scrub on its own.
