Returns & Exchanges

Return eligibility

Items must be unused, in new condition, and include their original packaging and all accessories. Machines that use water cannot be returned once unboxed, unless defective upon arrival.

For non-defective returns, customers cover return shipping. Original shipping charges are nonrefundable. If your order included free shipping, our actual outbound shipping cost will be deducted from your refund. Eligible returns have no restocking fee.

Product details

Cutting a pipe through a fire-rated wall or floor opens a gap the assembly was not designed to have, and a firestop ring is what closes it back up. Part 513FK is the STI ring stocked for central vacuum tubing, and MD describes it as a product STI designed for the central vacuum trade specifically rather than adapted from general plumbing hardware.

Vacuum pipe meets a rated assembly most often at a garage firewall, and between floors in multi-unit buildings. Whether a ring is required at any particular penetration is a matter for the local inspector and the installer, and it is not something a product page can settle for a given job.

MD sells a second approach to the garage crossing as well: a 2 by 6 inch steel firewall section, part 523S, joined to standard PVC vacuum pipe with cement and couplings on either side. Keeping the packaging, or a photo of the ring seated before the wall closes, helps if an inspector later asks which product went in.
