Returns & Exchanges

Items must be unused, in new condition, and include their original packaging and all accessories. Machines that use water cannot be returned once unboxed, unless defective upon arrival.

Product details

Part 511 is the PVC straight tee, a three-way junction with square corners. Worth knowing before you buy: MD does not recommend this fitting at any point in a central vacuum installation, describing it as one to use only where nothing else will do, on the grounds that its airflow characteristics are poor.

MD names one failure mode specifically. Where a straight tee feeds a pair of inlet valves set back to back in the same wall, dirt is deposited behind the door of the valve on the far side. That is a scenario to design around rather than discover later behind finished drywall.

The fitting MD points to instead is the 45-degree PVC wye, part 509, which brings the branch in at an angle so material keeps moving rather than striking a flat face inside the junction. MD's note on that one is to check the airflow is adequate and not to install the wye backwards. Keep 511 for the single junction in a layout that genuinely has no room for a wye.
