Product details

Every start and stop the machine has ever made has passed through this one component, so a switch that needs to be pressed twice, held at an angle, or nudged mid-clean has earned its retirement. Part 05112ER is supplied complete rather than as a bare rocker, so the mounting and the contact assembly go in together.

Because it carries the machine's full running current, a switch with pitted contacts does more than annoy. Resistance across a worn contact turns into heat, the housing around it runs warm, and in the end the contacts can weld themselves shut — a machine that will not switch off is a considerably worse fault than one that will not switch on. Getting to it early, at the point where the rocker first starts feeling vague, is the cheap version of this repair. A switch is also one of the few parts where the symptom and the cause are the same thing, so there is little diagnosis involved once the behaviour is described.

Supplying the switch complete matters more than it sounds. Rockers, contacts and mounting are matched to one another, and building a replacement from a bare switch and salvaged parts tends to give a unit that either sits proud of the panel or does not latch cleanly in both positions.

Fits the SEBO 300 MECHANICAL, the 350 MECHANICAL and the CE12 Softcase, where SEBO shows the rocker switch at position 140 on the SOFTCASE CE12 parts diagram. Unplug the machine and note the terminal order before removal, ideally with a photograph, since the tags are not always marked and the old switch is the only reference once it is out.
