Product details

Part 62206 is the switch control housing for the Electrolux Lux LE, 2100, and Hi-Tech canister series, the plastic shell that holds the power control switch. It is a structural piece rather than an electrical one: the switch mechanism itself lives inside it.

Replace the housing when it has cracked, when the mounting tabs that hold it to the switch assembly have broken off, or when the switch inside no longer seats securely because the housing around it has worn loose. A cracked housing on its own will not stop the switch from working, but it lets the switch shift or rattle, which wears the contacts inside faster than normal use would.

Match the housing to your model before ordering. Electrolux carried this control housing across the LE, 2100, and Hi-Tech canister line, and small differences between them can affect fit even when the parts look identical.

Removing the old housing is usually a matter of releasing the tabs that clip it to the switch assembly and lifting it free. Note how the switch mechanism sits inside before pulling the old housing away, so the new one goes back on in the same orientation.
