The SEBO Swivel Neck Joint for Essential G Series uprights is the genuine OEM pivot assembly that connects the handle to the base and lets the machine steer smoothly. Every turn you make while vacuuming passes through this joint, so its condition has an outsized effect on how the vacuum handles.
A damaged or loose swivel neck makes the upright hard to control and, less obviously, puts stress on the internal wiring that routes through it. If steering has gone stiff or sloppy, this assembly is the fix. During replacement, take note of how any internal cables are routed so they go back exactly as found.
