The tangential bypass design keeps motor-cooling air on a separate path from the suction stream so grit never passes through the motor.

This is the short-exhaust-tube variant in its motor line, suited to housings that seat the exhaust close to the motor deck. Replace the motor when suction weakens, the bearings grow loud, or the brushes are spent.
