Returns & Exchanges

Pressed against the suction motor of an ESSENTIAL G4 or G5 sits a small thermal switch with a single job: open the circuit when the motor runs hotter than it should. Part 05135ST is that component. It is a protective device rather than a control anyone operates, so most owners never think about it until the machine starts behaving oddly.

It can fail in either direction and both are worth acting on. Tripping early shuts the vacuum down part-way through a room and leaves it dormant until it cools, which reads on the floor as an intermittent electrical fault. Failing closed is the quieter problem: the protection simply disappears, and a blocked airway is then free to cook the motor windings, because it is the air drawn through the motor that carries its heat away in the first place. Fits the SEBO ESSENTIAL G4 and ESSENTIAL G5.

Repeated cut-outs nearly always start with restricted airflow rather than a faulty switch, so work through the bag, both filters, the hose and the wand before condemning the part. If the machine still stops when the airway is clear and the motor is cold, the thermo switch itself is the likely culprit.
