Part 8756-01 is the overload protector for the Titan TCS-5525 and TCS-8575 central vacuum power units. It sits inline with the motor circuit as a thermal switch, and its job is to open the circuit before heat from an overworked motor turns into damage.
A motor pulls harder than normal any time airflow is restricted, whether that is a clogged bag, a blocked hose, or a pipe run choked with debris, and the extra current shows up as heat inside the windings. The overload protector is built to trip at that point rather than let the motor keep running hot. If yours is tripping on a regular basis, look at the airflow path first, since a clogged filter or bag causes far more nuisance trips than a failing motor does.
