Titan Dust Cover - T9000, T...

Product details

On a bagged Titan T9000 or T9200 canister, the dust cover closes over the bag chamber and functions as a working piece of the airway rather than a simple hatch. Air gets pulled through the bag and out past this closure, so it needs to sit flush and hold that seal for as long as the machine is running.

A cover that is cracked, warped, or no longer closing tight lets two things happen at once. Fine dust works its way back out around the seam instead of staying trapped in the bag, usually showing as a light gray dusting along the closure's seam, and the machine loses grip at the floor because the motor is drawing part of its air straight in past the lid rather than through the hose.

This is part 591012121, and it fits both the T9000 and the T9200. With the cover removed, take a moment to check the sealing surfaces as well, since a fresh lid seated against a worn seal will still leak.

Bagged canisters tend to hide a leaking cover longer than bagless machines do, because the bag itself catches most of the dust that would otherwise show as visible film. A cleaner test than looking for dust is listening: a whistling or hissing sound near the seam while the vacuum runs under load is usually air finding its way past a seal that no longer sits tight. Run your hand slowly around that seam while a helper operates the machine, and a leak will often be felt as a faint draft on your fingers even before it is audible.
