Product details

The T-latch is the over-centre catch that holds the canister up against the power unit on Titan central vacuums, and part 9431 replaces it on the TCS-5525 and TCS-8575.

It is the one part of the system that gets used at every bag or bucket change, and the plastic tires. The hook wears round, the tension in the handle weakens, and the latch starts letting go on its own. That matters more than it looks, because the canister has to be pulled hard against its gasket to seal - a latch that no longer holds tension leaves a gap you cannot see, and suction falls off at every inlet in the house.

Check the mating catch on the body for wear at the same time; a rounded catch will chew through a new latch quickly.
