SKU 97300C is Tornado's CK LW 13/1 Roam, the battery powered 13 in. upright in the commercial line, built for crews who lose real time each shift unplugging, re-routing and hunting for the next outlet.

Going cordless on a commercial machine solves a scheduling problem more than a cleaning one. A corded upright's range is fixed by a building's outlet layout, which means a route has to be planned around where power is available rather than around the most efficient path through the space. Tornado rates the 44V lithium-ion pack at 50 minutes of runtime with a recharge just under two hours, and the battery and charger ship with the machine, so the constraint moves from outlets to charging discipline.

The drive is a 480 watt brushless DC motor, which is what lets an 11 lb. machine move about 60 CFM and cover roughly 4,000 sq. ft. per hour on a battery. Filtration is a 2-stage CleanBreeze HEPA setup at 7.6 qt., the nozzle sets its own height between surfaces, and an LED headlight runs ahead of it. At 75 dB(A) it is not a silent machine, but it is one that can work a floor without a cord crossing a corridor.
