Product details
Shaving ounces is the design brief behind the Tornado Zephyr, part TV570-Q03-U: it comes in under 11.5 pounds with a battery fitted against 19 pounds for the cordless Pac-Vac backpack.
That saving comes out of capacity. The Zephyr holds 3 quarts, so it is built for routes with stairs, seating and a lot of above-floor work rather than for open square footage, and Tornado rates it at 2,000 sq. ft. per hour accordingly. It moves 75 CFM at 75 inches of water lift and runs at 65 dB, with two-stage filtration running a fleece bag into an H14 HEPA exhaust filter.
A 36 volt 7.5 Ah lithium pack gives up to 73 minutes in eco mode. Battery and charger are sold separately here as they are across Tornado's cordless line, and the same pack fits the Strike upright and the Tempest sweeper if you already run either. The crevice tool, floor tool and telescoping wand come with the machine.
Lithium packs hold their cycle life better when they are not routinely run flat and are stored partly charged when a machine will sit unused. That is general practice for battery-powered equipment rather than anything particular to this pack, and it is most of the difference between a battery that lasts several seasons and one that does not.
