This genuine D-washer is a component of the idler bearing assembly inside the Turbocat T210 air-driven powerhead (Part #7231). Its flat-sided (D-shaped) bore keys onto the shaft so it cannot spin freely, correctly positioning and retaining the idler bearing that keeps the drive belt tensioned.
If the D-washer is worn, deformed, or missing, the idler can shift and the belt may slip or run off track, reducing brushroll speed. Replacing this small but critical part keeps the belt drive aligned and the brushroll turning at full power.
