Part HS4000A is the almond valve trim kit for a Hide-A-Hose HS4000 retractable inlet. Despite the name, this is not a bare cover plate: the kit supplies the inlet valve itself along with the finish door, a low voltage switch, four screws, two wire nuts, and a silicone pack, so it is what you order to put a complete working inlet on a wall.
The valve is where the retractable hose lives between uses. Pulling the hose out and fitting a handle lets you clean the room, and the central vacuum's own suction draws it back inside the wall when you are done, so the door and its seal are working parts rather than decoration.
Hide-A-Hose built the HS4000 series to take over from the discontinued HS3000 without changes to the existing piping or the drywall cutout, which makes it the usual replacement path for an older system with a failed inlet. It is sized for standard two-by-four wall framing.
Almond is one of several finishes offered on this line, so hold it against the wall plates and switch covers already in the room before ordering, since a warm neutral shifts noticeably between a screen and a wall. Confirm the HS4000 line as well, since the newer HS5000 and 6000 PRO valves take their own trim.
