Part 155435 is the lower wand with a button-lock release and a built-in channel that routes the power nozzle's cord along the wand instead of letting it swing loose.

Dragging the unit by its hose rather than carrying it is what usually puts a bend in a lower wand, and the cord channel can split at that same stress point after years of flexing. A bent section binds where it meets the hose handle, and a split channel lets the cord snag or pull loose mid-clean.
