This is the upper half of a two-piece straight wand: 21 inches of chrome-plated metal tube running from the hose handle down to the lower wand. Wessel Werk lists it as part 12.65744-305 for the Wessel Werk 1951.

Upper wands bend when the machine tips over and dent when they are dropped on stairs. A tube that is out of round no longer seats cleanly, so it whistles at the joint, works loose mid-clean, and makes the lower wand and floor tool hard to push home. Straightening rarely holds; a new tube is the reliable fix.

Slide it in place of the damaged section and confirm it locks. Because wand diameters vary between vacuum systems, measure the ends of your existing wand before ordering rather than going by length alone.
