This repair kit rebuilds the handle on a Beam central vacuum electric hose. Part 170112 brings the outer grip cover, the on/off switch, and the wiring harness together in one box — the three pieces that fail on a gas-pump style handle — and it supersedes the older 170171 kit.
The usual complaints are electrical: a power nozzle that cuts in and out as the handle flexes, a switch that has gone dead entirely, or a cracked casing that no longer holds the wiring where it belongs. Because the kit renews cover, switch, and harness at once, one repair deals with all three.
It fits Beam electric hoses with Plastiflex-style handles, including Touch-Lite Swivel hoses. The grip itself carries part number HD130GPR02 and the harness SHCBEZHR01. Note the kit no longer includes the adapter, so keep the one from your existing handle when you strip it down.
