Product details
Older machines take an older brush. Part 0511/1 is the carbon set SEBO supplied before 2001, matched to the 5211UL motor used in the AUTOMATIC X1 and AUTOMATIC X2 and to the 1843/2 motor in the ELECTRONIC 370.
From 2001 the 1843/2 moved to a different carbon set, listed as 05117S, so the model name on its own is not enough to order by. The number cast or printed on the motor body is what settles it, and on a machine that has had a motor replaced during its life the label is the only reliable guide. Getting this wrong is a common way to end up with a set that will not seat correctly in the brush holder. Ordering by motor number rather than by machine name takes ten seconds with the cover off and saves a return.
The set covers two different motors because SEBO used the same carbon specification across them in that period. That is convenient when it applies and misleading when it does not, which is exactly why the 2001 cut-off matters more than anything printed on the outside of the machine.
Worn carbons announce themselves through the vents. Bright arcing at the commutator, a burnt-electrical smell after a few minutes of running, and a motor that loses its pull under load are the classic three, usually appearing in that order over a few weeks. Left alone, the arcing pits the commutator segments and the repair stops being a brush change. Fit both blocks together so they bed in evenly, and clear the carbon dust out of the housing before closing it up. Fits the SEBO AUTOMATIC X1, AUTOMATIC X2 and ELECTRONIC 370.
