On a Carpet Pro SCBP1.2 backpack vacuum, the socket assembly is the fitting on the machine body where the hose plugs in. Part 34864 replaces it. It is a high-cycle part: on a commercial machine the hose comes off and goes back on several times a day, every day.
A worn socket announces itself through the tool end. Suction drops even though the filters and bag are fine, the hose feels loose in the fitting, and it can work its way free part-way through a room. Because the symptom is lost suction, the hose normally gets blamed first, so check whether the hose cuff still locks in firmly before you replace it.
Confirm your backpack is the SCBP1.2 configuration before ordering so the socket matches the opening in the body.
