Every pass around table legs and baseboards lands on the same narrow strip of trim at the foot of the bag compartment. SEBO 5085DG is that strip: the dark gray bumper base that runs along the lower edge of the bag housing on the AUTOMATIC X1 and AUTOMATIC X2 uprights. Colour matters here as much as fit, because the same position is served by different numbers depending on the finish of the machine, and dark gray is what this one is moulded in.
Trim of this kind is designed to be sacrificial. It absorbs years of contact until it splits at a clip, lifts away along one edge, or thins out far enough that the moulded housing rim behind it starts taking knocks directly.
