Part 71725313N is the hose adapter for the Sanitaire 5810 upright and its Eureka siblings. It is the moulded fitting that joins the cleaning hose to the port on the machine, so above-floor tools draw from the same airflow the nozzle uses.
Adapters crack where the hose torques against them. Once there is a split, air is pulled in at the joint instead of through the tool, and the hose feels weak no matter how clean the bag and filters are. A useful test is squeezing the joint closed with your hand: if suction jumps back, the adapter is the fault.
Listed for the Eureka and Sanitaire 2961AVZ, C5712A, C5712A-1, SC5713B, SC5713D, SC5745B, SC5815E, SC5845B and SC5845D. Push it fully home when fitting, since a partly seated adapter leaks in exactly the same way a cracked one does.
