Eureka / Sanitaire Victory Upright U-Belt

Sanitaire built its Victory commercial upright line around a U-shaped drive belt, and part 39557 is the longer-lasting version of that belt, sized for the Eureka and Sanitaire SC5713B, SC5713D, SC5745B, SC5815E, SC5845B and SC5845D.

On a machine that runs for hours a day, this belt tends to give up gradually rather than all at once. Heat softens the rubber a little at a time, so the roller loses speed well before it stalls completely, and the change is subtle enough that a crew can go a while covering the same floors before noticing the carpet is not coming up as clean, even with suction at the hose reading normal. A sharp burning-rubber smell is the sign the slip has gotten severe.
