Product details
Bushing bracket 2034 for Eureka and Sanitaire S635A and S645A uprights, part 375901. The bracket carries a bushing that locates a rotating shaft inside the machine and holds it on its centre line.
What you hear when the bracket cracks is not a bushing noise but a machine that has gone rough: a rumble that changes with speed, sometimes a rhythmic tick, and vibration coming up through the handle. The shaft has picked up a few thousandths of play, and because it is no longer running true it wears its bushing, and everything the shaft drives, faster than it should.
Fitting a sound bracket is the cheap end of that repair and leaving it is not. Unplug the machine before opening it, seat the bracket in its original mounting position, and check the bushing for scoring before you close everything back up.
