White-bodied machines take part 5008GW, the exhaust filter catch for the SEBO AUTOMATIC X1 and AUTOMATIC X2. It is the same latch geometry as the darker versions, molded in white so the repair disappears into the panel rather than sitting on it as a dark square.
What this piece does is hold the exhaust filter cover clamped against its housing, which is what forces every bit of air leaving the machine to pass through the filter media first. The tab is worked each time the filter is changed, and molded plastic only tolerates so many cycles before it splays out or chips at the hook. Once that happens the cover no longer pulls down flat: it gaps at one edge, buzzes while the vacuum is running, and eventually works itself loose partway through a job.
Fitting the new catch needs no tools and no dismantling, and while the exhaust side is open it is the natural moment to look at the filter behind the cover.
